The Cancer Research UK Manchester Centre functions as a federation with research positions remaining within the relevant University Faculties/Institutes and NHS Trusts.
Key stakeholders from across the partner organisations are involved in the governance of the Centre and in strategic decision-making. A clear structure has been developed that supports and encourages open two-way communication, ensuring that the Cancer Research UK Manchester Centre is able to reflect the needs of each partner organisation individually while focussing on the overarching ambition and aims of the Centre.
The Director, Professor Nic Jones, is responsible for the overall scientific leadership of the Centre. On a day-to-day basis, much of the Centre’s management is delegated to the operations team.
