Danielle Smith
PhD Student
Danielle is a PhD student in the Translational Radiobiology Group at The Manchester Cancer Research Centre. Her project is focussed on muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), for which resistance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy remains a large problem due to the hypoxic nature of these tumours. Her project aims to use a whole genome CRISPR screening approach to identify the key genes driving this resistance of cell death in MIBC cells, in hope that this can be used to improve the efficacy of chemotherapy/radiotherapy.
